Part 2: ADHD: Optimizing Brain Growth Development and Differentiation

This is a continuation of the newsletter of last month.

ADHD is a collection of behaviours that can cause significant hardship for kids with the behaviours (whether diagnosed or not) as well as those around him/her.  Though there is no cure for ADHD, there are many things we can do to improve the growth and development of the brain and nerve system.

The goal is to bring out the best – to support full expression, differentiation and potential.  Essentially, one must strive to create an internal and external environment that is optimal for growth and development of the brain and nerve system.  A few suggestions follow below:

– Seek out counseling and develop a support group around your child and family.  Keep in mind that rational thought processes and calming will come with maturation, growth, and development of the young brain.  In the meantime: be patient as you repeat again and again that all actions have consequences.  Emphasize the truth of how we determine who we are through every choice we make.

– Add some protein-rich and beneficial foods to your diet:

  • almonds
  • avocados
  • beets
  • chocolate
  • coffee
  • vegetables
  • green tea
  • oatmeal
  • olive oil
  • oregano
  • peanuts
  • rosemary
  • sea vegetables
  • turmeric
  • watermelon
  • wheat germ

– Add probiotics and fermented foods.

– Certain supplements may also help with ADHD-like behaviours:

  • L-tyrosine
  • Curcumin
  • Ginkgo biloba
  • L-theanine
  • B complex
  • Choline
  • Inositol
  • Magnesium
  • Co Q10
  • Phenylalanine
  • Tyrosine
  • Omega 3 EFA
  • ALA

-Make healthy lifestyle choices including:

  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Music
  • Sleep
  • Cold shower
  • Creative hobby
  • Journaling
  • Mighty Caesar (Standing tall in a Superman-like pose and exclaiming “Mighty Caesar”)
  • Chiropractic

To receive a more extensive list of beneficial things you can try (and a further explanation of what ‘Mighty Caesar’ means), ask at the office. Did you know you that there is a 100% natural proven way to improve functioning and integration of the ADHD brain and nerve system?  Ask us how!

Be the best you can be and explore your fullest potential.
